Well, they’re all photos from Thursday. I started editing them to post yesterday but thought I’d better go to bed instead.
So, bloggy things.
On Monday I administered my first caning. Hooray, these kinky schoolboy types aren’t all timewasting fantasists! He took it well, I wonder if the marks are still there.
On Tuesday I went to Hen Heaven as usual (31 miles on the bike). The not-awful weather was a relief; last week everything I was wearing got completely soaked and by the time I was due to leave the pad in my tights (which is there to stop my bum getting sore) still hadn’t dried. I couldn’t face putting it back on so I got a lift home.
The weather was forecast to be good for the next few days, so I thought I should try riding moderate distances on consecutive days. On Wednesday I did 53 miles and got home just in time to have some food and go for a sewer tour. Yesterday I did the same route reversed (minus the sewer), which was a lot more fun, partly because there was a rare Easterly wind to push me along at the end. I could really do with some more of those! I ride either North or East of Brighton, and fighting Westerlies for the last 10 miles before I get home is my least favourite bit.
I passed Raystede animal sanctuary near the beginning, so I stopped to have a look around. A parrot said hello to me. I may be cynical, but I reckoned it had it’s eye on my banana peel so I handed it over.

Later I had a chat with a mountain biker who was working on the road and was impressed by my hill climbing. I forgot to point out that my bike is lighter than most mountain bikes and I’m lighter than most people so I have an advantage there.
Then I got to the coastal cycle path, put on some music and was whisked into Brighton. It was ace. Oh, and the starlings have arrived!

When I got to Brighton I carried on to Shoreham Port and back to make the ride up to 60 miles. It was early evening then and everyone had rushed outside to do whatever outdoor activities they were into. It was lovely. Then I remembered I was supposed to be posting a picture of myself, so you get to see how trendy my riding gear is.

Ok, best be off! I want to go to Sheffield Park Gardens today (about 40 miles). I’ve been there before, but this time I plan to take the key for my bike lock, not just the lock, so I can go in.
