Would you ever consider doing a tour so those of us in other parts of the UK would get to see you?

Posted on Monday 22nd August 2011 @ 09:50 in Q&A

I’ve considered touring but I may be too lazy. I used to "tour" in Brighton every so often when I didn’t have anywhere to do incalls unless I booked a hotel room or holiday flat and that was quite fun, but doing it that way saved me from having to do much extra marketing, which is a part of the job I don’t enjoy.

Maybe I’ll get around to it some time. Answering this now has got me considering combining Bristol/Bath with my next trip to Wales. Both good cities to tourist about in if I completely screw up the business side :).

Do you mean just for fun, or as a tour? For touring see the next question. For fun, I don’t know, do you have any suggestions?

Do u do tickling and are your feet ticklish?

Posted on Sunday 21st August 2011 @ 00:50 in Q&A

I do like a bit of tickling sometimes. In non-sexual situations I’m annoyingly good at staying in control, but when I’m aroused I often get ticklish in a nice way. Almost any part of my body can get ticklish when that happens, it seems quite random, but my feet are sensitive so I expect they’d always respond if you had a go.

(Now with 30% more bowdlerisation) Do you find pejorative terms such as "prostitute" offensive, or do you willingly embrace them in the same way that some black people adopt the N-word?

Posted on Saturday 20th August 2011 @ 11:49 in Q&A

I don’t see “prostitute” as a pejorative; certainly not in the same way that the N-word is. It’s main meaning is someone who has sex in exchange for money, which is what I do. It’s often used negatively, but that’s because people consider having sex for money as a negative thing. I don’t and I’m not ashamed of what I do, so I also don’t have a problem calling myself a prostitute or being called one.

That said, it’s not the word I use when someone asks what my job is, because it does have baggage and it seems a bit impolite to throw it into the conversation like that. I haven’t found a perfect word for that situation; I often say “escort” out of habit, but that can be awkward when they think they know what I mean but don’t want to suggest that I’m a prostitute (or even think that going to dinner with people might be a real job), so then I have to assure them that it’s definitely sexual.

I do use “prostitute” quite often on forums because it covers all segments of the business. Also when newbies are involved I think it’s useful as a reality check if they’re a bit Belle-eyed, and might help to stop them developing into the kind of hooker who comes up with silly distinctions to explain why when she has sex for money it isn’t prostitution.

In the previous version of this question you mentioned “whore” (which I’m sure formspring didn’t like), and I think that’s somewhat like the N-word. I’m happy to see that reclaimed and I had a phase of it myself, but it has a harsh sound and I couldn’t properly get on with it. Like the N-word it’s one that you can use if you’re a whore yourself, or perhaps if you’re a close friend who can get away with that sort of thing, but if you use it from the outside it’s going to come across as an insult and not cool whatever your intent.

After reading your site I was wondering how often you entertain female clients or especially couples (mf or bi mm) and whether this is an aspect that interests and engages you personally or is just part of your obviously excellent professional outlook.

Posted on Thursday 28th July 2011 @ 22:33 in Q&A

Woah sorry, questioners! Formspring stopped sending me new question notifications and I thought you’d run out of ideas. I just logged in for something else and saw 10 in my inbox.

I’ve only ever had one solo female client; it’s not much of a thing and I do say on the rare occasions that women ask about booking that I don’t have a lot of experience there. I’ve had sex with women in my personal life but I was a bit shy doing it professionally.

Couples (mf) are a normal but not that common part of my work and I like them partly because it’s something different, though threesomes take more physical and mental energy than most one-to-one bookings. Cool, communicative couples (this is most of them) are great. It’s fun to get involved in their sex lives when they treat themselves, and often they’re really enjoying trying something for the first time. I find the female half is often the centre of attention and very demanding!

I’m still waiting for the man-on-man action.

FormSpring flagged your question as abuse and hid it, which wasn’t really a problem because it was still answerable, but then I was slow with my answering and I suppose flagged questions are automatically deleted after a week or so. Please resubmit your question if you’d like me to answer it.

You being in Brighton and all… well, at party conference time, have you ever kept any famous politicians company? Cheers,Nick Robinson, BBC.

Do you ever regret saying " ask me anything?"Is there a question you would not answer?

Posted on Friday 20th May 2011 @ 11:15 in Q&A

I don’t regret it at all (by the way it’s just the default and I couldn’t think of anything better). I said ask; I never promised an answer!

There’s lots of things I wouldn’t answer. “What’s your home address?” “What was your last client’s name?” I probably wouldn’t bother with “do u like big black cocks?”

People have been well-behaved though, so I’ve answered all the questions which have come in so far (expect for the ones I haven’t got to yet).

You say "I’m really not interested in getting romantic with anyone."Does this mean your private life is a series of one night stands, or a series of friends who have regular sex?

Posted on Friday 20th May 2011 @ 11:10 in Q&A

Some of my friends have regular sex. That doesn’t really affect my life, though.

My private life is a series of BBC4 documentaries, cakes, dancing, cycling to Henfield, and tea.

As with the perfect night out, this isn’t how I think. I don’t even have a mental list of places to visit. I like to experience other places rather than hang out at some beach full of British people, but other than that I’d rather let someone else have the ideas!

What is the most memorable romantic liaison you have had, either in your private life or your business bookings

Posted on Monday 16th May 2011 @ 23:49 in Q&A

Er well, I guess it’s a sex one. My first threesome.

I’d just turned 20 and had a new sort-of-boyfriend (we went on to have a long-term casual relationship and 2.5 years in we admitted that we were a couple). I went to visit him in Manchester and things were great, but there was an awkwardness with one of his housemates, who he’d been sleeping with for a bit. There was no commitment there either, but we were all in the house, he was focusing on me since I was visiting, and we were all rather young. Looking back I’m surprised it wasn’t much more awkward. Anyway, after a week we resolved the tension by watching David Bowie and all getting in bed together. I’d never been with a girl before but really really wanted to. She’d never considered it but was convinced, and of course he was super-smug. We spent hours of each day with big grins all the time until he had to go off somewhere. I moved into her room then and stayed for a few more days. Apparently it really confused the other housemates.

I normally try to spread my answers out a bit, but with this answered my formspring inbox will be clear for the first time since I set up the account! Thanks for keeping me going with a bunch of good questions. The next one I’m asked is the next one I answer.

Nope, it hadn’t occurred to me to try. I assume that most of my readers are people I don’t know, so I wouldn’t expect to be able to identify the questioners. I have wondered if some people are asking multiple questions, but I’m not good at finding clues.

Hi Anika. What is your favourite genre of music? Thanks, Tim.

Posted on Wednesday 4th May 2011 @ 18:25 in Q&A

I always find questions like this difficult. (I had to answer a couple of weeks ago for my singing teacher, who seems very concerned that I might not like a song we’re working on. I’m really not that fussy.)

I don’t think I have a favourite anything in music at the moment. "Rock" still covers a lot of of stuff I like, but "rock" is a very big umbrella, so that doesn’t mean much. I’m also pretty bad at classifying music. How about a list of the artists on my MP3 player instead?

ABBA
Alabama 3
Alanis Morissette
Amy Winehouse
Aqua
Benny Goodman
Beth Orton
Bloc Party
Blondie
Brian Eno
Buddy Rich
Cake
Catatonia
Collide
Curtis Eller’s American Circus
David Bowie
David Ford
Diana Ross & The Supremes
Dresden Dolls
Duke Special
Erroll Garner
Garth Brooks
Gene Krupa
Jake Goss’s Banyan
JJ72
Johnny Cash
Kate Bush
Kidneythieves
Kit Downes Trio
Lamb
Le Tigre
Leonard Cohen
Loose Marbles
Macy Grey
Meat Loaf
Miles Davis
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Nina Simone
No Doubt
Novembers Doom
Peaches
Pulp
Rammstein
Sisters of Mercy
Skindred
Subsource
The Ark
The Cardigans
The Gathering
The Pogues
Willie Nelson

Ok, that was a longer list than I expected. Mostly rock, jazz and pop. Enlightened?

I meant it slightly differently – “Have you ever had a client who you have gone on to date?”

Posted on Wednesday 4th May 2011 @ 18:05 in Q&A

Ah I see. I read that a bunch of times but never managed to parse it properly.

Gosh, no. I did get close once, but it all imploded pretty quickly because it was a terrible idea. I suppose the chance of me dating a client isn’t really lower than the chance of me dating anyone else, but that’s just because I’m really not interested in getting romantic with anyone.

Have you ever met up with a client after a meeting for a date?

Posted on Wednesday 4th May 2011 @ 15:39 in Q&A

(This one might show up again. It’s been a few hours and it hasn’t posted automatically, so I’m doing it manually.)

I think you mean have I ever met someone outside work for a date, and then gone straight to work? Um. I don’t think so. I was seeing someone local early in my career and we spent way too much time together, so I sometimes worked on the same day that I’d spent some time with him, but I wouldn’t call those dates. In the time I’ve been escorting I’ve spent a total of maybe three months dating people who lived less than 200 miles away, and I’ve never been on random dates, so there hasn’t been much opportunity for this to happen. I wouldn’t do it unless it was an afternoon date anyway, because I’d either be busy ’till morning or off home to bed!

How old were you when you got your piercings? Which piercer(s) did you use and would you recommend them?

Posted on Monday 2nd May 2011 @ 23:45 in Q&A

Ear lobes: My mum wouldn’t let me (or my sister) have them pierced until we could be left alone to deal with the aftercare ourselves, and I think the age she set was 13. I went to one of the local jewellers and had them pierced with a gun. I think I looked after them ok, but they still got gunky and while giving them a rest they healed up. I was 14 or 15 when I got them redone, and 15 or 16 when I got another set (I’ve got two earrings in each lobe). All were local jewellers with guns again, which I don’t recommend. Guns are harder on your flesh than needles, and the jewellery that proper piercers use doesn’t trap the gunk like those gold-plated studs do.

Helix (top of the ear): I was 17 and should have known better. My boyfriend was 26 and REALLY should have known better. Anyway, we both wanted a helix piercing, and we were mega cheap, so we decided to each take one of a pair, like my friends used to do at school. We weren’t interested in paying for a proper piercer, but the jewellers with guns were responsible enough to only do lobes. We were on his turf, in Manchester*, so he took me to Affleck’s Palace and we found a hairdresser who also did piercings. She wouldn’t let us split a pair, so we had to pay like a whole fiver each, and that’s why I have two holes there. She was apparently very absent-minded and started prepping me for hair extensions, but I wasn’t deterred. I got pierced, my ear was sore for weeks, and I regretted having them done on the side I like to sleep on. It worked out ok eventually but no, don’t do that!

Nostril: I’d wanted this done since I was 12, when I used to put little star stickers on my nose. My mum thought it was unhygienic and then someone else said they had one and could feel it poking the inside of their nose all the time which sounded annoying, so I went off the idea a bit. But, I was 18, or maybe 19, and I still wanted a thing on my nose. I thought I should just go for it, I could always take it out if there were any problems. I had it done in Punktured in North Laine. It didn’t hurt, but I went pale so the piercer lowered my head, gave me a lolly, and wouldn’t let me leave until I got someone to collect me. It was pretty good care, but I don’t know if she’s still in that shop.

Nipple: 21. I’d been lapdancing for about nine months and one of the other girls had both hers done, which I started to like after playing with them in double dances. It was also topless dancing only, so I was fondling my boobs all the time. I was getting a bit bored, so I got pierced. I went to Perforations, which was the studio that was generally recommended at the time. I don’t remember the name of the guy who did it, but he was the one that didn’t leave the country. It was good; I was sure to sit down in reception for a while afterwards, but I was fine. Once I got up and left I was even better. For an hour or two my nipple was sensitive to the bounce of every step, but not at all uncomfortably, so I just kept walking as long as it lasted.

Hood: Still 21. This one was also partly influenced by the strip club, although I’d left by then. I wasn’t into hood piercings before, but another dancer had one and I started to think it was cute. Plus it’s a functional piercing with some people reporting better and easier orgasms, and I hadn’t had any at the time so I thought it was worth a try. I went back to Perforations, which had become Metaflesh, and the same guy pierced me. I did it without anaesthetic and I screamed, so I was impressed that he got it almost straight. Him being so friendly and chatty was a minor drawback this time though, since we were talking about something and he wasn’t quick to replace the needle with the jewellery. At the time I didn’t realise I was going to feel a lot better once he did! Anyway, it was a nice place but I can’t recommend it because the owner went to new Zealand or something.

*This isn’t the ex in Manchester that some of you know about; he came later and is only two years older than me.

If you won the lottery, what would you spend the money on, after taking care of friends family and charity

Posted on Sunday 1st May 2011 @ 12:34 in Q&A

Well I don’t play the lottery, so it would have to be a case of someone who really liked me winning, I suppose. I don’t have any big things I’d like to do apart from buy a house. Maybe I’d try paragliding? I could afford to do it now, but I’m also a big wimp, I just thought maybe I should try to get over it because floating on air currents is such a cool thing to do. It’s a kind of an expensive hobby as well as being scary though, so I doubt I will. If expensive was taken out of the equation it might tip the balance.

One thing I would do is quit work for a bit (don’t know if I’d stop forever), shave my head and let everything else grow. I think I’d look silly bald, but I still want to try it. (Not thinking about hair removal otherwise would just be a nice change.) By the way, I know I could do this stuff while working if I wanted to, but I don’t want to that much, which I expect is a relief for most of you.

Where would you like to go on holiday this year?

Posted on Monday 18th April 2011 @ 10:48 in Q&A

I’ve already been on holiday this year, to Lisbon with family. I’d been there once before for a biology field trip but barely seen the city, so it was nice to get a chance to explore it properly. It might be the most picturesque city I’ve visited, and I was thinking that Sintra is full of amazing backdrops for photoshoots (at least if you go in the off season).

I prefer to save any air travel for winter (when I’ll appreciate it more) and stay in Britain in summer. I’m kind of planning to go to the Isle of Wight, because it’s right there and I’ve never been. Also, because they have a garlic festival and that’s a brilliant idea. I need to visit both parents at some point which will take me to Wales and the Peak District, so that might count too.

Hi Anika. Have you any new photos planned for your website/Adultwork? Do you think photos on an escorts site make much differrence to business? For what its worth you look fab in the 2 new pics on your blog with the glitter lipstick :)

Posted on Saturday 16th April 2011 @ 23:51 in Q&A

The only specific new photos I have planned are of my feet, so that’s pretty specialist. I do intend to add some more to my private gallery soon and I have another striptease video that I could turn into stills, but the first one took at least two hours to do, which is crazy, and that’s before uploading and writing descriptions. I’ll probably put some odds and ends in before I get in the mood to do that.

I will do a proper photoshoot soon. I’ve been meaning to for a while and I had to join a modelling site recently (long story, not to be told), so I’m having a look there to see if I get any interesting TFP offers. I know someone who I’ll probably book for a shoot too, so it’s definitely going to happen!

Do they make much difference? Um. I donno. Some escorts are very good at tracking all the tweaks they make to their business, but not me. I mostly just try to keep my public face as something I’m happy with. I’m sure photos make a difference, but how much probably depends on the level of choice within your niche or area.

I’m glad you like the glitter! Not something I’d wear while working since I don’t think many of my clients would want to be more sparkly themselves.

What would make your perfect evening out?

Posted on Friday 15th April 2011 @ 17:14 in Q&A

I’ve been slow at getting to this one because it’s more difficult to answer than I expect you thought. I can’t visualise a perfect evening; sometimes these things just come together. I’ll have a good evening if there’s something to make me laugh (like Showstopper, they’re brilliant) or something to make me dance. (I like dancing to proper songs, not dance stuff, and some cheese doesn’t go amiss. I also need some space to fling myself about, and I always make sure I’m wearing comfortable bouncy shoes!) If I talk to some interesting people in between and maybe come across something cool and unexpected, it’s probably a great evening.
