Anika's Blog

It was Thursday when I started this

Posted on Friday 8th April 2011 @ 01:12 in me,Personal,Pictures

I meant to post this at some point during my day of not many plans, but then someone wanted very much to spend some time with me, and after having a very late lunch to get my energy back and then coming home, I didn’t have much time before going out to an improv comedy workshop. I didn’t want to miss it, because I hadn’t been since last summer now that most of my Thursday evenings are taken up with learning to tap dance.

It was a musical comedy session this week, which I hadn’t realised and if I had I might not have gone, but it was much less scary than I thought. I should have realised it wouldn’t be really, since I’m not scared of singing. I’m terrible at it; can’t carry a tune in a bucket; but I still like to do it loud and with feeling, and that’s all it takes. (I massively recommend The Maydays by the way, both for their shows and classes. They’re brilliant on stage, and trying out improv for yourself is a lot of fun even if you’ve got no desire to get onstage yourself.)

So, about the pictures. Last week I went to a Steampunk event (I also went to a different one the week before, so I’ve been explaining what it is to people a lot lately. Fortunately this is the internet so you can go and look it up if you want). I didn’t want to dress Steampunk, but I did want to make an effort, and I wanted to wear some lime green eyeshadow that I hadn’t used yet (still in that spring mood). Anyway you’re mostly boys so you might find this sort of thing totally boring, I don’t know. Here’s what I looked like (I thought to photograph my face while I had good light, then completely forgot to take any pictures at the event):

I wore a spider in my hair, which you can’t see very well. Not very seasonal, but I don’t have that many light/lime green things.

What do you eat? Salads and potato wedges! It’s spring, remember!

Posted on Friday 25th March 2011 @ 12:00 in other,Personal,Pictures

Wow that was a lot of posts on Wednesday. It’s Thursday morning now but I’ve set this to publish on Friday because you’re probably sick of me right now.

I’ve been getting beetroot in my veg boxes for the last few weeks. For all my childhood I thought beetroot was horrible because of those plastic-wrapped pickled slices, but that’s not how it has to be! Unpickled beetroot is sweet with a bit of an earthy flavour, and is lovely raw or cooked with little or no extra flavouring needed. My favourite ways of eating it are roasted with a little salt, or grated raw with apple. The salad option is easier (at least now that I have a food processor). I had fennel too, so that went in as well.

I wanted some potato wedges, because why wouldn’t you? And then there needs to be something proteiny. I noticed the ripe avocados in the fruit bowl, which are a source of lovely fats rather than protein, but they made me think of the edemame that I had in the freezer.

Edemame is (are?) green soya beans. In Japan they eat them straight out of the pods as a snack, and you can usually have a bowl like that in Japanese restaurants. You can also buy them frozen with or without pods from East Asian food shops, and Birdseye produces shelled ones (labelled “soya beans”), which you might be able to find with the frozen veg in supermarkets. They have a mild flavour that’s best with a little salt, and I really like them with a bit of onion.

This is what I made, based on the quantities I had. It came out as 3-4 portions. Could have done with a bit more of the green one.

Potato Wedges

Wash 1kg potatoes and chop into wedges of approximately even thickness. Put them in a bowl, preferably with extra space for mixing. Add enough vegetable oil to coat, then generous quantities of dried mixed herbs, garlic powder and onion powder, and be a bit less generous with some salt and pepper. Mix it all up, spread over a baking tray or roasting tin, and put in the oven on a high temperature for um, half an hour?

Beetroot salad

1 medium and one small beetroot, washed, peeled, topped and tailed
1 bulb fennel, slightly old-looking outer leaf removed
1 lovely Royal Gala apple. Should have been two, but I ate the other one
A splash of lemon juice (probably wouldn’t have needed it if I still had the other apple)
A few twists of salt
A wee bit of cayenne pepper (chilli powder would be fine too)
Raw sunflower and pumpkin seeds (optional)

Grate all the grateable things. Mix together with seasonings. Add seeds if you like.

Avocado and edemame salad

Halve, stone and peel two ripe avocados. For each half, cut in half again down the length, then slice across to get medium-sized bits. Put the bits in a bowl with some shelled edemame that’s been boiled for a few minutes and salted. (I think I used about 1.5 cups. I would have used more, but I didn’t have much of the bag of shelled ones left so I topped up with some that were still in pods, but I didn’t want to use a lot of those because they’re nice as a snack straight out of the pod.) Add a little finely chopped onion (I used about half a shallot, I think spring onion would have been good if I’d had some). Dress with a bit of lime juice, mix it all up and add some more salt if you like.

Springtime and pointe

Posted on Wednesday 23rd March 2011 @ 17:39 in Personal

It’s finally spring! It feels like it’s here now that I’m waking up earlier and getting some cardiovascular exercise other than shagging.

Tuesday is my usual day at Hen Heaven, and yesterday I cycled there and back for the first time this year. I wasn’t sure it was a good idea since I’d just realised I had another bloody cold, but I’d been looking forward to it and I feel fine today, so I don’t think I used up any energy that I needed for making white blood cells. It’s 27 miles total which isn’t a lot, but my bike is old and cheap, and it’s only about the fourth time I’ve ever ridden that far in a day. (I didn’t know if I’d have the energy to ride there, do some work and ride back; I got around to trying last year just before the days got too short.) I didn’t get home until after seven and then I spent most of the evening eating, but my legs feel totally fine today! So does my bum!

Last week I rode there but not back, which probably helped. I went to see Les Ballets Trockadero De Monte Carlo with Linda in the evening, so she took me and the bike back to Brighton. Linda saw them for the first time two years ago and thinks they’re about the best thing ever (though they do come behind turkeys, chickens, and possibly motorbikes), so she bought about 10 tickets when they went on sale last year and took as many volunteers as she could to see them. It was pretty impressive and quite funny, but I think I missed a lot of the humour by not being into ballet at all. I didn’t even see Black Swan.

I’m fundraising!

Posted on Friday 18th March 2011 @ 19:01 in Personal

Some of you know that I volunteer at Hen Heaven, and if you’ve been to the site you know that they need a new fence. They really do. Foxes are always a problem if you have chickens around, but last summer a tame fox appeared on the scene (it had probably been fed by some people until it wasn’t scared of humans any more), and since it wasn’t scared to approach the barn, it caught at least one bird a day. Since then they’ve all had to stay indoors, because it’s too unsafe to let them go out. We’d like to let the birds out again this summer, and Linda wants to start work soon, because things need to be cut down first and she doesn’t want to do that while the wild birds are nesting.

So, it would be lovely if some of you would go and donate. I’m offering stuff to people who do! If you want to take me up on it, please include a note with your donation that says, “To Anika”, and then anything to identify yourself. Your name (if it’s something common like John, please add an extra description), or your favourite quote, or whatever, just keep it clean! Only your message and donation amount will be passed on to me. Once you’ve donated you can send me a message to say what’s in your note, and we can go from there.

Here are your potential rewards. Ask me if you’d like a package!

£10 – one photo (of me, unless you request something else) taken especially for you. Requests fulfilled at my discretion.

£15 – a pair of knickers.

£20 – video chat on Skype. Talk about whatever you like.

£30 – a toy (I went a bit crazy at LoveHoney a few years ago and there’s several that haven’t made it into my regular box).

£60 – a social meet (e.g. lunch, dinner or drinks)

£100 – an extra hour added to a booking of at least two hours. So you donate £100, pay me £300, and get three hours playtime with me. Yes it costs you the same, but it’ll make you feel even better.

I know this is quite strange and random, but it’s worth a try.

Email subscription and a ditzy hotelier

Posted on Friday 18th March 2011 @ 13:19 in Personal

Sorry email subscribers, it’s not fixed. [Edit - no wait, it is fixed! Welcome back.]

In unrelated news, now I know why someone called my work phone the other night wanting a hotel room. It seems some Greek guy who runs a hotel in Castle something tried to have calls forwarded to his mobile, and put in my number instead. I wonder how long before someone manages to get hold of him and tell him. (I haven’t told anyone that if they need a shag in Brighton, they’ve come to the right place.)

Edit: that hotelier’s been sort of useful! Someone just called and asked, “excuse me what kind of business is? I have the number saved in my phone but I’ve forgotten what it’s for.” I’m pretty sure he called me deliberately for a bit of saucy explanation (seriously, people do this), but when someone does that and you ask “oh were you looking for a hotel in Castle something”, they get confused and say yes, so I told him I couldn’t help him. Once I’ve stopped getting hotel calls I’m going to tell anyone with that line that I sell reusable menstrual pads on Etsy.

Hi
I’m writing this mostly because email subscription stopped working
and I think I fixed it
but I need to make a post once in a while
or I’ll never know

I’m still completely horrible at writing here
ever
I didn’t even tell you that I was performing on Friday night
I tied my friend to the pole
and covered her in chocolate
and danced around
and licked off the chocolate

It was great
And you weren’t there
Sorry.

Also, I’m reading Myths RETOLD
right now
It’s funniest at night when I should have been in bed already
but always funny
and it’s making me want to use carriage returns a lot.

A Post!

Hey, I’m still here! No, I still haven’t fixed the gallery. There was a terrible collision of perfectionism and laziness.

A couple of months ago I decided to do a steampunk astronomy striptease quiz this Sunday, and I’ve been in a bit of a flutter about it. Fortunately I was up too late for a Wednesday night with Charlie yesterday, and in between unpublishable things we broke up the creative blocks. As long as speaking on stage doesn’t turn out to be a disaster for me, it should be interesting in a good way.

Also, I’d like to report that frosted bathroom glass doesn’t hide all that much if you’re positioned right next to it with the lights on and it’s dark outside.

What do you eat?

Posted on Tuesday 21st October 2008 @ 14:38 in Personal

This is the sort of thing people often ask after I tell them I’m vegan. It’s ok, there are much more annoying responses, but it’s hard to answer (well, what do you eat?) so I thought I’d start what may be an occasional series. Unfortunately I’m starting with a cliché; lentils. Lentils are not just for hippies, I promise. I got this recipe from my mum, she’s not vegetarian any more but still thinks it’s the best way to do bolognese.

Lentil bolognese is good for cooking a big batch of, which I like doing mostly because I like big pots and ladels. When I went to Portugal for a field trip a couple of years ago, dinner each night was a set menu at one of the local restaurants. They were all very nice but not vegan-friendly at all, so after making the best of it for a couple of days I bought some stuff and made use of the kitchen while the group went for dinner. There were lots of catering-size pans and I thought some of the others would want some of my food for lunch, so I made a huge pot of lentil and chickpea curry stew. It was still cooking when they got back and I was doing my homework in the kitchen. People would wander in and immediately give the pot a stir, there’s just something about it.

I crave a bigger pot, but I have one that makes about 10 servings and I should be happy with that, so this is what I put in it:

Four medium onions
Half a bulb of garlic (cloves peeled and very coarsely chopped)
A bit of chilli (flakes, but any kind works)
Four or five bell peppers of various colours
Oil
Water
Two tins of tomatoes
Dry red lentils (err, about three cups?)
A glass or two of red wine (if you skip this you should probably add some stock or soy sauce or something)
Plenty of dried Italian herbs
Some tomato puree
A bit of salt

Fry the onion, garlic and peppers (and chilli if you’re not using powder) until soft.
Add the tinned tomatoes, lentils and plenty of water.
Simmer for about an hour until it’s mush, topping up with water so that it stays liquid enough not to stick. Add all the other ingredients while it’s simmering. Leave the tomato puree until it’s about done and then add to taste.
Serve with spaghetti or something.
Freeze the rest in single-serving takeaway boxes for when you can’t be bothered to cook.

Songs it’s impossible to maintain an erection to

Posted on Thursday 10th July 2008 @ 13:27 in Personal

People call me to have a wank. Some of them pay me for it, but most just call me up and hope for the best. It’s one of those things escorts deal with.

You can just hang up, but a lot of them are persistent and keep calling back. You can try putting them off by belittling them but it’s a risk, plenty of men are into that. Some of them are happy just wanking to silence, knowing that that silence is coming from my house.

After an especially persistent one I put together a playlist of songs, for those that call while I’m home. I got into it, so it’s longer than it has any need or right to be. Here are the songs I think should put anyone off their stroke:

Dixe Cups – Goin’ To The Chapel
Willie Nelson & Waylon Jannings – Mommas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys
ABBA – Thank You For The Music
They Might Be Giants – Older
Aqua – Cartoon Heroes
S Club 7 – S Club Party
Steps – 5, 6, 7, 8
Hanson – Mmmbop
Avenue Q Soundtrack – If You Were Gay
Ronnie Hilton – A Windmill In Old Amsterdam
The Brunching Shuttlecocks – The Bjork Song
Monty Python – Every Sperm Is Sacred
Bis – Powerpuff Girls End Theme
The Red Army Choir – Along Peterskaia Street
Rocky Horror – Sword Of Damocles
Arrogant Worms – Jesus’ Brother Bob
Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers – Islands In The Stream
Garth Brooks – Longneck Bottle

What do you think? Did I get it right, or is there something on there that you or someone you know could in fact maintain an erection to?

I listened to it last time I was in the mood for a lot of cheesy stuff. When I did, I realised that two of the songs are perfect for the next night I’m performing at (Intergalactic theme). So, the wankers are good for something.

Not the usual

Tonight I signed in to Adultwork for the first time in a while and made myself available for phone sex. I forgot about it until a call came through via DirectChat. I located the nearest vibrator, but the gentleman said he’d given the site a try and decided it wasn’t for him, so he just wanted to use up his remaining credits talking to me. We had a nice chat about tea and things.

Not that I don’t like some raunchy talk now and then, but the alternative was a nice surprise.

Since we were unceremoniously cut off, thanks for calling. It was a pleasure to talk to you.

I should write in here more

Posted on Wednesday 26th March 2008 @ 16:39 in Personal

I should write in here more. I’m not good at personal blogging though. I used to be, but I got older and the novelty wore off. Is anyone even interested?

If you are, inspire me. Tell me what you’d like me to write about or ask me a question and maybe I’ll answer.

Incalls went well, I’ll definitely use a flat again next time. Having a week instead of three nights so I could impose a two clients/day maximum was great for me. I mostly managed to leave several hours between bookings and completely avoided burnout. It was also much nicer to welcome people to my flat than my hotel room and having a kitchen was exciting. My first client got some icecream out of the deal. :)  Thanks to everyone who turned up, it was a fun week.

Since then I’ve been to see my mum in her new house. Not for a housewarming unfortunately, she’s ill and it was quite worrying for a bit. Things are looking a lot better than they were last week though, and she’s enjoying her new village home.

I realise this is an old meme, but I only just saw Yatta and it makes me happy. So does LOLcat Torchwood Fanfiction for that matter, although I don’t think many of my readers will have any idea what that entails. Or want to know.

Things that are making me happy

Posted on Monday 4th February 2008 @ 02:18 in Personal

Thing one: I went to see a friend a couple of weeks ago. We were putting together a Temptation of Eve set to perform that night, with the help of some Creationist soft rock and Alice Cooper. (She liked the Alice Cooper, which is encouraging. She doesn’t like Queen (incomprehensible) or Meatloaf.)

Anyway, when she opened the door she was wearing a red PVC minidress, red patent stripper platforms, and marigold gloves. I have the best friends.

Thing two: I just submitted my tax return (oops, a few days late, but they don’t seem to want to fine me for it). Due to my long holiday and claiming the many sex toys I bought that year as expenses, I made a lot less in 06-07 than 05-06. Then because my July payment towards 06-07 was based on 05-06 income, my bill this year was less than a third that of last year. That’s a really good surprise.

Thing three: My Friday night involved a guy who’d fallen over backwards and fallen asleep on the pavement with nothing but a t-shirt on his top half. We took him to our house since he couldn’t find his own, and then another stranger who was helping managed to find his housemates. We sent them all off to hospital in an ambulance, which was great because his friends thought it’d be all right to take him home until one of the ambulance crew explained the danger of head injury. I went to their house today to ask how he was. I haven’t seen him yet but his housemate said that he’d been in hospital for a while but he’s ok. That’s one of the best feelings there is.

A Christmas entry

Posted on Thursday 27th December 2007 @ 01:42 in Personal

I’m at my mum’s house for Christmas, my family’s nuts. Tomorrow I’m seeing my dad, then on Friday I’m home and working out what I’m doing for NYE.

My sister has her dumbell set up here so I’ve been lifting a bit while listening to Electric Six. I could only feel more macho if my bedroom wasn’t purple and turquoise with yellow stars.

As a courtesy

Hi Anika

I hope you’re well.

Cosmopolitan magazine in Brazil would like to run the article you featured
in. As a courtesy I just wanted to check you were ok with this and also for
them to reproduce the same pictures that UK Cosmo used.

With thanks

Lisa

Urg. I’m aggravated now. Any mention of Lisa Brinkworth makes me angry at myself. I hadn’t thought I could be so easily manipulated, and how was I so unsceptical? I’m a web-savvy girl, all it would have taken was a google search to find out that she wasn’t a student reporter just getting started (which caused me to excuse her crapness and feel bad whenever I tried to pull out). She even gave me the name of her editor, I could have asked to speak to her about whether the way Lisa represented herself was true.

Learning about the world

Posted on Sunday 12th August 2007 @ 12:28 in Personal

Fourteen or fifteen years ago, my sister and I were sitting by the side of a small winding road in Croatia at night. Our dad had driven the car into a rock and we had to wait a long time for help. Looking at the sky, I saw my first shooting star. I told my sister about it and she thought I’d made it up. I’d read about meteors recently and knew why they glowed, but she thought shooting stars were just a fairy tale device.

When I was about seven I didn’t believe in rainbows.

Was there anything that you thought was another fantasy adults told children, that you found out to be true after all?

So, the night I dance at turned two this month. The theme was Icons and my friend’s costume idea really amused me.

Sensitive Christians may not want to view this entry. I think your religion can deal just fine with a random hooker dressing up as the Madonna and dancing to Like A Virgin, but I understand if you’re not into that. The pictures are lovely though (but not safe for work).

My take on the Cosmo article: no leotards or winking

Posted on Tuesday 19th June 2007 @ 13:22 in Personal

I kind of hoped this would slip under the radar. The whole thing was ridiculous. That was obviously very optimistic. Two escorts contacted me about it within days of release, and there are three threads on message boards that I know of. Sussex Punting has scanned and uploaded the article, so you can find it there if you’re interested and haven’t seen it.

Late last year a woman called me saying she was looking for someone to join her and her boyfriend for a night. Some of the contact was by email, so I’ve been able to look back over it.

She said they were both students and was quite adamant that they wanted to see another student. I explained that I’d dropped out of University and said I might be able to point them towards a current student, but the only one I could think of isn’t bi, so I didn’t. She said they’d see me anyway but she’d really like to chat “so I’ll feel a bit like we’re at least friends..”

Most escorts don’t have much patience for that, which explains why she only managed to get me (not a student) and Kama involved in her article. I’m willing to meet nervous clients for a quick drink though. Normally only in Brighton, but I was going to London on Saturday and wanted to do some shopping on Sunday, so I arranged to meet her in a café in Covent Garden.

We had a drink and a chat. She asked if she could take a picture of me on her phone to show her boyfriend. I agreed (must trust people less). I wonder if she was planning to use that if I wasn’t cooperative about pictures.

A week or so later she called to say that she’d decided she couldn’t go through with it, but as part of her degree she sometimes wrote articles for Cosmo and her editor had asked if she could write one about her experience. She asked if she could use my name and a picture of me. I said my name was fine and she could use a picture that didn’t clearly show my face.

The scenario sounded unlikely so I asked some friends about it. They didn’t think a student would be writing for Cosmo or that the magazine would have writers sourcing pictures. Someone suggested that she might be trying to get something to submit to one of the Lunchtime mags, so I watermarked all my pictures that weren’t already and forgot about it.

Months later she called again. She said Cosmo was finally running the article and started asking me more questions about myself, taken by surprise I answered. I said I wanted to check that she was working for them so she gave me her name, I called the publisher and yeah, she was.

Over the next two weeks I had more calls from the reporter. I asked her why she was asking me about my life and history when it was an article about her experience. She explained that she was weaving in personal stories from the people she’d met. I tried to pull out twice: because she’d misrepresented her project; because I’m sick of people trying to make me fit their idea of a student trying to pay her way by hooking; because she came across as very unprofessional and it just bugged me. I don’t know if she came across that way because she was genuinely inexperienced or because it made it harder to say no to her. I didn’t think I could do anything about being mentioned in the article, it was their use of my picture that I considered not cooperating with. I said if I were to give permission I wanted to see the final text of the article. She agreed, but later said that her editor wouldn’t allow it but she could read me the bits about myself. I agreed to that.

She did seem to be trying to make the article acceptable to me, which was why I backed down the second time I tried to pull out. She called me a few times to run the current version by me. There were a lot of mistakes, some of which I corrected and some of which I didn’t bother with. Since she never actually interviewed me, just asked me questions and then tried to remember the answers afterwards, the supposed quotes in the article are all paraphrased. She originally had me saying that my housemates “know what I do and don’t mind one jot”. Does anyone actually talk like that?

Anyway, from what she read to me the article seemed fairly insipid but not offensive, so I was ok with going along with it although I wouldn’t have chosen to be involved. Having read the published version my opinion hasn’t really changed. I don’t think it’s good journalism: it’s quite obvious that she knew what she wanted to say and was just looking for some examples to demonstrate her opinion. She’s glossed over the fact that I wasn’t a student when I started working or when she met me: I didn’t do it because of student debts, I did it because I’m a pervert, thank you very much. I’ve been in the Adult industry for three and a half years and for one of those years I thought I should go to University. I’ve been told both by people who know me in real life and only from message boards that my personality doesn’t come across (which would have been ok if stuff about me didn’t make up the bulk of the article). There are also a bunch of factual errors, some of which I didn’t get the chance to correct.

So, here are my corrections:

“Minutes later, without embarrassment, she whips off her coat and stands in front of me in a skimpy Wonder Woman leotard teamed with black fishnet stockings and red baseball boots, and the rucksack is unzipped to reveal a baffling array of sex toys.”

I don’t have a Wonder Woman outfit, sorry. Also, did I mention that we were in a café? There was no leotard.

My outfit was eyecatching though, it was the one I’d worn to Erotica the day before. I wanted to dress up and thought my Supergirl outfit would stand out more there than some corset getup. Sadly I don’t have a picture to show you, but it’s made up of a Super baby-tee, red mini skirt, blue fishnet hold-ups and red Converse hi-tops.

As for the sex toys, we went to a fetish club after Erotica so I might have had some with me, but my backpack was mostly full of my sleeping bag so there wasn’t space for a baffling array of them.

She should have seen what I wore to the fetish club.

“After we’ve talked for hours, I agree to pay her £800 for her services for a night, plus drinks and dinner.”

We talked for about half an hour. Dinner plus overnight would be £850.

“On our first meeting”

… which was also our only meeting.

“She admits to being tired, having serviced six clients in the last few days, mostly at local hotels.”

When I first read this I thought what the fuck? I’ve never seen six clients in a few days. Then I remembered that yes I have, when I book a hotel room and take incalls, as I had that week. In that case they were all in one hotel, the one I’d booked. But yes, it’s an intense and tiring thing to do. I was also tired because I’d been to a club the night before, and in pain with what I was about to find out was a root canal infection.

“The first man she slept with was Turkish. “I managed to get £380 out of him for two hours,” she says proudly. “It was fine.”"

If I said it proudly, it was because he paid me that for a hand job. Neither of us had condoms. It wasn’t fine though, it was fantastic. I really liked the guy and had a great time with him. When I woke up the next morning and remembered what I’d done I was exhilarated. I was worried about telling my friends what I’d done, but I personally felt thrilled and liberated by breaking such a powerful social taboo. I was a nice girl and I was a whore. When I went back to the champagne bar that night the girls smiled at me and I felt like I was part of something. I used to love walking through some hotel lobby in Copenhagen, alone at four in the morning. That excitement at the trivial details of my job lasted for about six months before they became routine.

blah blah mortgage repayments

I did know about this bit but couldn’t be bothered to correct it. I said that I was a good way towards having a deposit for a house, not that I’d already saved one and had a mortgage.

“she winks at me”

No. No I didn’t. I don’t wink unless I have something in my eye.

Now this bit isn’t about me, but,

“I find a string of students advertising on the net who happily supply their phone numbers and don’t seem to worry about the risks of meeting men who haven’t been vetted online.”

Oh please, you can have as many phone numbers as you like, and just because they didn’t tell her about their security measures on her first enquiry doesn’t mean they don’t take them. I’d rather take care of my own security than leave it all to an agent, which she seems to consider the more sensible option.

Oh, one last one,

“I’ll carry on until I stop enjoying it,” she says. And from the look on her face, that won’t be any time soon.”

For all she knew I could have been gurning while I said that. She asked me on the phone.

So now I’ve seen the article and I know she was never serious about doing business with me. Obviously when she came out as a reporter I knew it was likely, but she always maintained a vague fiction that her initial interest was personal (and even that she went to agencies because she was interested in trying escorting herself). I wondered if she was really undercover all along or if she didn’t want to admit in an article that she’d considered paying for sex, but when I looked back at the emails it was clearly the former.

I said in a recent entry that my offer to meet potential clients casually for free hasn’t been abused, but I suppose I have to amend that now. I’m not going to rescind the offer though, several genuine and good clients have appreciated it, but no more juicy details outside the bedroom. You live and learn.
